Pharmacy IT services
in Reunion Island
Winpharma, LGPI/ID, Smart Rx, LEO — your LGO runs on infrastructure that must be HDS-compliant, connected to the Pharmaceutical Record, compatible with Sesam-Vitale and e-prescription. ECLAUD IT manages pharmacy IT in Reunion Island.
Reunion Island has approximately 155 pharmacies (CNOP, 2026) with 186 owner-pharmacists. Average revenue is growing (+7.06% in 2024), but IT requirements are mounting: HDS 2.0 mandatory by May 2026, reinforced health GDPR, e-prescription rolling out. We handle all of that so you can stay at the dispensing counter.
Why does your pharmacy need an IT provider that knows the industry?
A pharmacy's IT environment is nothing like that of a regular shop or SME. Your LGO is Segur-certified. Your connection to the Pharmaceutical Record runs through the Ordre's network via CPS card. Your electronic claims transit through Sesam-Vitale. Your controlled substances register is digitised. And all of this runs on workstations that must stay operational from 8am to 8pm, six days a week.
A generalist IT technician does not master these workflows. They can reinstall Windows and swap a hard drive, but they will not know how to reconfigure your CPx card reader after an update, nor verify that your backups comply with the HDS framework. The day a ransomware attack encrypts your LGO database — patient history, prescriptions, stock — the consequences are immediate: pharmacy closed, patients without medication, mandatory CNIL notification within 72 hours.
"In 2023, French healthcare establishments suffered 10% of all cyber incidents reported to ANSSI — a massive over-representation relative to their economic weight. Pharmacies are not spared." — ANSSI, State of the cyber threat to the healthcare sector
That is why ECLAUD IT specialised in this field. We know your software, your regulatory constraints, your business workflows. We speak the same language as your LGO vendor and your wholesale distributor. We intervene on-site in Reunion Island when needed. HDS 2.0, health GDPR and Segur — what the law requires of your pharmacy
HDS 2.0 Certification
Any externally hosted health data requires an HDS-certified hosting provider. The HDS 2.0 framework, published in the Official Journal on 16 May 2024, requires compliance by May 2026. Six activities covered: physical hosting, infrastructure, platform, administration, external backup, and managed services. As soon as your backups leave the pharmacy or your LGO runs as SaaS, this is mandatory.
Reinforced Health GDPR
Health data is sensitive data under Article 9 of the GDPR. The CNIL pharmacy reference framework (July 2022) specifically governs compliance for pharmacies: processing register, explicit consent, regulated retention periods, CNIL notification within 72 hours of a breach. The joint CNIL-CNOP practical guide supports implementation.
Segur Digital Programme
The Segur programme requires your LGO to be certified to feed the Shared Medical Record (DMP) and use MSSante secure messaging. Eight pharmacy software products are eligible for government funding for Segur updates (ID/ex-LGPI, Winpharma, Leo 2.0, Smart Rx, Crystal, Vindilis, etc.). E-prescription is part of this rollout.
Which LGO software does ECLAUD IT support?
We install, update, back up and troubleshoot the main pharmacy management software packages. Segur updates, e-prescription configuration, cross-vendor migration — this is our day-to-day work.
Winpharma
No. 1 independent pharmacy software vendor, over 30 years in business. Automated ordering (up to -74% backorders), collaborative tools for the dispensary team, constant innovation. Segur-certified, e-prescription operational.
LGPI / ID (Pharmagest)
Historical market leader, rebranded "ID" within the Equasens group. Very widespread across France, classic but robust interface. Compatible with Segur, Sesam-Vitale, and the Pharmaceutical Record (DP).
Smart Rx
Modern and agile interface, used in Reunion Island (pharmacist Aurelien Barau testimonial). Antares 44 version with purchasing, security and NEV modules. Segur-certified, validated e-prescription.
LEO 2.0 (Isipharm)
Segur-certified with natively HDS-certified LEOcloud — restoration and traceability included. Sesam-Vitale and e-prescription integrated. A solid option for pharmacies wanting cloud without the complexity.
Vindilis
Validated in pre-series for digital prescriptions (August 2025, version 6.6.2). Full Segur integration. A discreet but reliable vendor, long present in the pharmacy market.
Crystal (Infosoft)
Validated in pre-series for digital prescriptions (March 2025, version 2.53). Segur integration. All-in-one solution with stock management, dispensing counter and electronic claims transmission.
Your LGO is not on the list? We adapt. Eight pharmacy software products are eligible for Segur government funding — there is a strong chance yours is among them.
Pharmaceutical Record, Sesam-Vitale and e-prescription
Pharmaceutical Record (DP)
Created by the CNOP in 2008, the DP lists dispensed medications for 4 months (21 years for vaccines, 3 years for biologics). Since the decree of 3 April 2023, creation is automatic unless the patient objects. This means your infrastructure must be operational at all times: CPS card, card reader, connection to the CNOP central server. A network outage makes the DP inaccessible — and potentially missed drug interactions.
Sesam-Vitale and electronic claims
Every day, your pharmacy sends electronic care forms (FSE) and electronic reimbursement requests (DRE) to health insurance bodies. This requires a card reader (CPx + Vitale), an approved Sesam-Vitale LGO, and a Vitale card update terminal (ROSP funding of EUR 250 per reader). The dematerialised Vitale card (TeleVitale) is coming — your network infrastructure must be ready.
E-prescription / Digital prescription
Full dematerialisation of the prescription process is rolling out. More than 9 pharmacy software products are validated in pre-series (2025). The paper circuit is being replaced by a digital one: the doctor prescribes, the pharmacist dispenses, everything transits electronically. This simplifies dispensing but requires reliable network infrastructure, an up-to-date LGO and solid backups.
Pharmacy network infrastructure
Local or HDS cloud server, UPS to maintain uptime during power cuts (frequent in Reunion Island during cyclone season), professional firewall, secure Wi-Fi with separation between public network and back-office. We add dispensing robots, CCTV and the point of sale — everything must communicate without failure.

Pharmacy IT in Reunion Island — local specificities
Reunion Island has between 155 and 243 pharmacies depending on the source (CNOP February 2026 vs imazpress September 2025). The sector is consolidating: recent closures in Mare Vieille Place, Cilaos, L'Entre-Deux. But average revenue grew by 7.06% in 2024 (Revue Pharma) — the pharmacies that remain are doing well.
Overseas constraints complicate IT: higher latency to metropolitan servers (HDS hosting in mainland France), dependence on undersea cables (SAFE, LION), power cuts during cyclone season. That is why we systematically recommend a local backup (encrypted Synology NAS) to complement the HDS cloud — belt and braces.
ECLAUD IT is based in Saint-Paul and covers the entire island. North (Saint-Denis, Sainte-Marie), West (Saint-Paul, Saint-Gilles), South (Saint-Pierre, Le Tampon), East (Saint-Andre, Saint-Benoit). On-site intervention within 4 hours, immediate remote support.
How much does managed IT cost for a pharmacy?
| Pharmacy type | Workstations | Monthly range |
|---|---|---|
| Small pharmacy | 2–4 workstations | EUR 200 — 400/month |
| Medium pharmacy | 5–10 workstations + robot | EUR 59 — 99/workstation/month |
| Cooperative / pharmacy group | 10+ workstations | Custom quote (dedicated infrastructure) |
All plans include: unlimited support, HDS backup, managed antivirus, LGO updates, 24/7 monitoring. On-site interventions in Reunion Island are included. The investment is fully tax-deductible.
FAQ — Pharmacy IT services
Why choose a pharmacy-specialist IT provider rather than a generalist?
A generalist does not know LGO software (Winpharma, LGPI/ID, Smart Rx), Sesam-Vitale workflows, the Pharmaceutical Record, or HDS constraints. They will install an antivirus and an external drive backup — but without HDS certification, compliant encryption, or GDPR documentation. When a CNIL audit or ransomware attack hits, you are the one paying the price.
Is my LGO Segur-compliant? How do I check?
Eight pharmacy software products are Segur-certified: ID (ex-LGPI), Winpharma, Leo 2.0, Smart Rx, Crystal, Vindilis, Pharmaland and others. Check the ANS website (esante.gouv.fr) to confirm your vendor is on the list. If your LGO is certified, you are eligible for Segur government funding for the update. ECLAUD IT supports you through verification and compliance.
Is the Pharmaceutical Record (DP) mandatory? What are my obligations?
Since the decree of 3 April 2023, the DP is created automatically for each patient unless they opt out (6-week window). The pharmacist must collect the patient's contact details (email or postal address). Access to the DP requires the pharmacist's CPS card and the patient's Vitale card, via a connection to the CNOP central server.
How do I secure patient data and prescriptions in a pharmacy?
Three pillars: encrypted backup at an HDS-certified hosting provider (not on an external drive at the dispensing counter), a professional firewall (FortiGate or equivalent) with network segmentation, and workstation encryption. Add MFA on remote access and a CNIL notification procedure within 72 hours. Never send a prescription by unsecured email — this is an explicit CNIL recommendation.
How much does managed IT cost for a pharmacy in Reunion Island?
For a small pharmacy (2-4 workstations), expect EUR 200 to 400/month all-inclusive: unlimited support, HDS backup, managed antivirus, LGO updates. For a medium pharmacy (5-10 workstations + dispensing robot), the range is EUR 59 to 99/workstation/month. For a cooperative or mutual pharmacy group, we provide a custom quote. The investment is tax-deductible.
Does ECLAUD IT handle dispensing robots and automation?
Yes. Dispensing robots (such as Mach4, ARX, BD Rowa) integrate with the LGO and the pharmacy network. We handle cabling, network configuration, linking with management software, and settings backup. This is sensitive equipment — a robot failure means a pharmacy that cannot operate.
How do I migrate from one LGO to another without data loss?
An LGO migration is a structured project: export of the database (patient history, prescriptions, stock), import into the new software, integrity verification, reconfiguration of Sesam-Vitale and the DP. We schedule this for a Sunday or a closing day to minimise impact. ECLAUD IT has experience with cross-vendor migrations — it is part of our day-to-day work.
